How To Make A Large Hair Bow?

Every girl’s favorite hair accessory is a hair bow. The bigger they are; the happier most girls are. Hair bows can be tied around a ponytail. Still it is more ideal for them to be attached to a barrette clip. This provides the wearer with a bigger, fuller bow that lasts longer than a smaller one.
Making your own hair bow is quite easy. All you need is a 1 inch wide ribbon, scissors, a needle, thread, a hot glue gun, and a barrette clip. First, you should cut the ribbon into 8 pieces. Each piece needs to be 12 inches long. One of the ribbons should then be cut 10 inches long and another one 8 inches in length. Each of these ribbons should have an inverted triangle cut out of the ends so that they can be used for bow tails.
Next, fold the ends of the ribbon over until they come together to make a loop. Take the ends and press the ribbon down on the other side of the loop. To keep these pieces in place, single stitch them together. You will then have two loops on the side of the stitch. Using the last pieces of ribbon , repeat this step. After that step has been completed, take two of the ribbon piece and lay them across each other so that they make an X.
Now take the 10 inch piece of ribbon and fold it over the center so that it will form an inverted V. You will then place this over the cross with the centers aligned. You now should have two loops on both side of the bow and two five inch tails. At this point, place the left loop portion and stitched ribbon pieces on top of the X at different angles; the centers still need to be aligned and folded. Then the eight inch tail should be placed on top of all of the ribbon.
Once you have done this, take your needle and push it through the bottom of the center ribbon. Then make three stitches. Each stitch should be a quarter inch apart through the middle of all the ribbons. Afterwards, gently pull the thread through the ribbons so that they form pleats in the center. Take the last bit of thread, wrap it around the center, and neatly tie it off.
Now cut a 5 inch piece of ribbon and tie it into a loose knot. Affix this knot over the center of the hair bow in a way that hides the stitches. Next take the end pieces of this ribbon and wrap it around the back of the bow; then stitch it into place. Once all of this is done, using hot glue, attach the back of the bow to the barrette clip. Once the glue is dry, your bow is ready to be worn.
